시편의 표제

The book of Psalms is called “the book of poetry” in Korean Bible translations. The term “poetry” (시) in Korean translation from the Hebrew word “mizmor,” which is translated as “psalm” in English. So “poetry” is misleading.

이 글은 ‘시편’이라는 책 제목과 관련된 정보를 다룹니다. ‘시편’은 마치 이 책이 문학의 한 장르인 ‘시’로 되어 있는 것처럼 생각하게 만듭니다. 그러나 시편은 본래 예전에 쓰이는 찬양의 가사집으로 문학보다는 음악과 관련된 용어입니다.
